Just Plain Great Writing

Just Plain Great Writing

Every once in a while, I run across a piece of writing that is so good, I want to share it. This is completely unconnected with anything except the simple fact that I write for (part of) my living, and when I see great stuff, I want to share it. This is by John de Garmo.

I want to go places that are in the top 10 as ranked by travelers worldwide.

When I get there, I want to take it all to a new level with premium club concierge service featuring personal butlers, and award-winning, breathtaking, state-of-the-art amenities. Since I’m so discerning, I want upgraded, upscale, high-end, full member and insider access to endless opulent choices, and I want it to be an unparalleled, unlimited, unsurpassed, and unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime experience. And then I’m going to double down and supercharge it.

When I go out to restaurants, I want the best of the best. Only those sought-after places that are creating local buzz in the community while emanating a 5-star, stunning, chef-driven very buzzy vibe of their own inside their doors. The menu must feature sustainably curated farm to table, organic, macrobiotic, dry rub, high def, free range, heirloom choices; and the drinks must be craft-brewed beers and hand-crafted cocktails made by savvy bartenders with authentic indie cred and artist-inspired tattoos. The renowned wine cellar collection must be fully-stocked with prestigious high-end wines.

And I will post pictures of everything I eat and drink on all of my social media accounts. When it comes to everything else, I need trendy, unisex, and only the finest in distinctive specialties. I want to indulge in every impulse. I need to stay connected 24/7 with hands-free, voice-activated, mobile, smart, on-demand wireless virtual reality technology. I need all-out glam that is stylish and iconic, while also being astounding and jaw-dropping. I need first-of-its-kind, newly reimagined interactive and limited edition events that are led by tastemakers, trendsetters, and thought leaders.

Only then will I get back to basics.
