For over fifteen years, Elizabeth Gummere has provided accounting, financial and operational services to hundreds of businesses to give them both a big-picture and a detailed perspective on their finance and accounting operations. She has an unmatched range of expertise, spanning everything from audits, payroll, cash management and reporting to complex financial modeling, projection and analysis.
Beth began her career as a financial and accounting consultant for several major Bay Area businesses, including a major food processing company, an engineering consulting firm and a Fortune 500 accounting and staffing firm.
Her responsibilities in these roles included developing complex financial modeling and cost accounting systems, day-to-day finance operations and consulting with clients undergoing transitions such as mergers, acquisitions, and software/systems implementations.
She launched her own consulting practice in 2001, focusing on nonprofits, entrepreneurial enterprises, companies in transition and other small and medium-sized businesses with specialized or unusual accounting and finance needs. These have included a Japanese SAAS products company, several museums, a public radio station, and companies in markets ranging from advertising to motorcycle accessory distribution, aviation and manufacturing.
Working with this diverse clientele, Beth has developed expertise in virtually every aspect of accounting and finance. She has worked on projects ranging from 3 months in length to 10 years, and has managed accounting and finance operations for startups and entrepreneurs in both an in-house and interim role. - Software expertise in Quickbooks (15+ years), BusinessWorks, Peachtree, Great Plains, Oracle, and advanced Excel and modeling.
Beth’s undergraduate degree is from the Syracuse University Newhouse School of Communications. She has an MBA from Simmons College. In addition to her finance and accounting expertise, she is also the owner of a residential glass installation business, a competitive rower, and has been involved with a number of Santa Cruz area nonprofits, including Grind Out Hunger and the Santa Cruz Film Festival.
