The idea behind Writer on Retainer is simple: Provide a first-class writer who can write or edit anything your firm needs. Anything. You’ll get fantastic work, fast turnaround, and a reliable, experienced partner who’s always on call:

Me.

Writing is how law firms communicate. This includes everything from legal briefs and pleadings to marketing materials, blog posts, proposals, RFP responses – it’s a very long list.

Large firms have in-house writing and editing teams, who can take care of this. Small and midsized firms? Not so much.

That’s where I come in.

As your writer on retainer, I’m available, on no notice at all, to handle any kind of writing project. Your firm retains me for a set number of hours a month – say, twenty – and I’m always ready. No more hunting for a decent freelancer, worrying about deadlines or quality or haggling over price. It just gets done.

A few examples. For law firms, writing that isn’t optional can include:

  • An article ghostwritten for a partner who’s on trial.
  • Blog posts need to be written, and it’s starting to look like your firm’s blog is outdated.
  • Drafting or editing pieces for JD Supra, LinkedIn or Lexology.
  • RFP responses, particularly under time pressure.
  • Copy editing briefs or pleadings.
  • Speeches, presentations and webinars

Why me? Because I’ve been a writer for over twenty years. I have handled hundreds of projects like this.

I’ve taken a redeye across the country to prepare an RFP for an AmLaw 100 firm, in three days, to represent Shell Oil. They won the business.

I’ve ghostwritten articles for partners on everything from doing business in Cuba to purchasing unionized companies to new developments in gaming law.

I’ve bailed more firms out of more writing jams than I can begin to count. I’ve written thousands of pages of very high-quality content for hundreds of clients all over the world.

And I can do it for you. If you’re interested – let’s talk.
